It was an exciting evening of street and pop art for the artist Mr. Brainwash’s solo exhibition inspired by Vincent van Gogh at Clarendon Fine Arts in Westport, Connecticut, and Luxury Experience was on hand to help celebrate. Born in France, Mr. Brainwash (aka Thierry Guette), is a street and pop artist who now resides in Los Angeles and has garnered fans around the world after being featured in films, on the cover of one of Madonna’s album covers, and much more. His works are a playful mix of homages that highlight his artistry and whimsical nature, where he notes, “My aim is to reveal the unexpected.” The exhibition runs at Clarendon Fine Arts in Westport, Connecticut until May 3, 2026.
On Thursday, April 23, 2026, art collectors, art lovers, and artists came together to experience and celebrate the solo exhibition of the street and pop artist Mr. Brainwash at Clarendon Fine Arts in Westport, Connecticut for a one night only reception. The champagne flowed, a DJ kept the ambience lively and exciting, and Mr. Brainwash mingled with art collectors and other artists, for an evening of stimulating art conversations discussing his new, as well as prior, works of art.

Meeting Mr. Brainwash, we were immediately impressed with not only his art and his creativity, but also his vibrant positive energy that electrified the air around him. He is a force of nature creating on canvas, paper as well as Mixed Media sculptures. While many of his new works are a homage to Vincent van Gogh, he also drew inspiration from other artists such as Norman Rockwell, Walt Disney (look for Mickey Mouse), Charles Shultz (look for Snoopy dancing), Andy Warhol, and others.

Iris
One of his interesting combinations deftly and creatively combined Vincent van Gogh’s irises presented in a Warhol-inspired tomato “paint” can presented as Mixed Media on paper. Another work, Where Ideas Flower, has a Vincent van Gogh self-portrait with flowers and butterflies coming out of his head, with “Art Is For Everyone” button, “Dream Bug Dreams” button, and a “smiley face” button depicted on van Gogh’s jacket lapel.

Where Ideas Flower
In his work, Work Well Together, an original Mixed Media on Paper, Mr. Brainwash pays homage to the artists Norman Rockwell and Warhol, and adds street and pop artist flair, with written messages overlayed on top, which made for dynamic contemporary work. Also interesting was a Warhol-inspired Marilyn Monroe, a Mixed Media piece created with shards of old vinyl records. There was so much to see and experience that a visit, (or two) to the gallery is required to absorb and appreciate the depth and creativity of his work.

Marilyn Monroe
As always, when artists, art lovers, and art collectors get together, the atmosphere sparkled with excitement. If you collect street and pop art, or just appreciate its culture, you will want to experience Mr. Brainwash’s exhibition at Clarendon Fine Art before the show ends on May 3, 2026.
Until next time, keep enjoying and supporting the arts!
