Tito Jackson: Under Your Spell: Wheels Keep Turning, Love One Another, I Like It, Under Your Spell, Dyin Over Here, Big Leg Woman, You’re Gonna Push Me Too Far, That Kind Of Love, Rock Me Baby, All In The Family Blues, I Got Caught (Loving in a Dream)
Tito Jackson – Under Your Spell, was produced by Executive Producers Steve Hart, Guy Hale, Mike Zito, and Oliver Overton and released on the Gulf Coast Records/Hillside Global label.
While Under Your Spell is Tito Jackson’s debut Blues release, he is a Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, and a talented singer, songwriter, arranger, producer, and musician. A dedicated entertainer, he has performed since the early 1960s (The Jackson Brothers, The Jackson 5, The Jacksons, and as a solo performer). With this release, he shares his passion for the Blues with his talent for songwriting and musicianship.
The 11-track release opens with Wheels Keep Turning, written by Michael K. Jackson and Tito Jackson, with a big, bold, sassy brass intro by Jason Parfait and Ian Smith leading the way. Stellar guitar work by Michael K. Jackson and Tito Jackson, bass by Darrel Neal, and organ and piano by Michael K. Jackson and Brandon Adams, make this opening song a standout.
Next in the playlist is Love One Another, another Michael K. Jackson and Tito Jackson collaboration. Stevie Wonder layers in the harmonica on this catchy tune that will have you wanting to clap along, so let yourself go and join in.

Tito brings on the funk for the title track, Under Your Spell, which features Joe Bonamassa on guitar, Michael K. Jackson providing background vocals and rhythm guitar, and Tito’s tremendous vocals. Next up is Dyin Over Here with Jason Parfait and Ian Smith layering in dynamic horns to add punch to this catchy song.
Big Leg Woman has a 1950’s groove and a gorgeous organ and piano instrumental featuring Brandon Adams. Also playing on this track are Tito Jackson on guitar, Kenny Neal on rhythm guitar, Michael Harris on drums, Jason Parfait on lead sax and horns, Ian Smith on horns, and Larry Bolden adding his vocals to Tito’s.
Blues fans are in for a special treat with the B.B. King 1964 song, Rock Me Baby written by BB King and Joe Josea with its gorgeously long 1-minute instrumental intro. BB King’s youngest daughter, Claudette King joins Tito Jackson and Michael Lee on lead vocals, and other important players include George Benson on lead guitar, James "Boogaloo" Bolden on trumpet, Russell B. Jackson on bass and vocals, Eric Demmer on saxophone, Lamar Boulet on trumpet, Darrell Lavigne on keyboards, and Brandon Jackson on drums. I love the lyrics to this song "…rock me baby like my back ain’t got no bones…"
Other great tracks include I Like It, You’re Gonna Push Me Too Far, That Kind Of Love, and All In The Family Blues. The release deftly closes with I Got Caught (Loving in a Dream) written by Steven "Ice Buck" Powell and Tito Jackson, with Tito Jackson on guitar, Tyree Neal on rhythm guitar, Brandon Adams on organ, piano, and synthetic bass, Jason Parfait and Ian Smith on horns, Michael Harris on drums, and vocals by Tito Jackson, Steven "Ice Buck" Powell, and Larry Bolden.
