The latest and first live release by Tommaso Starace – Tommaso Starace Organ Trio – Live at The Beaver Inn is a unique “live” look at the musicianship of three stellar musicians. The release is composed of seven covers from the Jazz, Latin, Brazilian, and Funk song books. Lending their individual feelings across the covers provides for a beautiful musical journey, for which I wish I could have been there to experience, but luckily, I have the release to spin, and which you will want to add to your music library.

Tommaso Starace Organ Trio – Live at The Beaver Inn was recorded live at The Beaver Inn, Appledore, Bideford, United Kingdom, Produced by Tommaso Starace and Maurizio Bizzochetti, and Dodicilune, and released on the Dodicilune Records label. Tommaso Starace has released ten studio albums with Live at The Beaver Inn his first live album. Martin Jenkins – Hammond Organ
The release opens with the Trio playing the Thelonious Monk track, We See. The Trio captured the fast paced Monk style while adding their individual styles to a track that sets the tone for an evening of great music. The next track lets the Trio lend their flair to a Samba classic from Sergio Mendes, Groovy Samba, and they show off their hip swaying samba groove.
Pip Harbon – Drums
The track Firm Roots, by Cedar Walton. brings the Trio back to their Jazz roots and they let it go as they lay down a powerful groove that captures the elements crafted by Cedar Walton. With the track, Stablemates, written by Benny Golson, the release turns to a softer poignant feel and lets the audience take a breath. The Trio follows up with the song, Misty, by Erroll Garner, an extraordinarily beautiful and mesmerizing track. Now that they have the audience laid back and settled in, the Trio livens it up with their version of the Latin infused track, Fungii Mama, by Blue Mitchell. Letting the “wheels” off their instruments they produce a foot tapping finger strumming cover.
The release closes with the track, Voyage, by Kenny Barron, and the Trio selected a great cover to close out the evening with energy and a feeling of immense satisfaction. The quick paced song rides the cymbals, stellar horn work, and timely organ cut ins for a spectacular evening of music at The Beaver Inn.
