Atlantis Casino Resort Spa
We stayed at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in late July 2019 and loved the location of looking out and seeing the breathtaking Sierra Nevada mountains. Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable, and Montgomery Clift film aficionados may remember seeing the mountains in the John Huston/Arthur Miller 1961 film, The Misfits. It was a sight we never tired of seeing whether it was looking out the window of our Spa floor room or gazing up at the mountains while swimming early morning laps in theoutdoor pool.
The Guestroom
Our luxury Spa room was a spacious oasis of relaxation with a king bed and pristine white duvet and linens, chocolate brown accent throw at the end of bed and a Specialty Pillow Menu to appeal to even the finickiest Goldilocks with pillow selections of Diamond Support Pillow, Buckwheat Pillow, Aqua Plush Pillow and more, in addition to the variety of pillows on the bed. Nightstands accessorized with large lamps flanked the bed and interesting art graced the walls. A mushroom colored chaise lounge placed in front of the window provided a cozy place to read one of the in-room magazines, while the desk and chair provided a nice workspace, and a large flatscreen television graced the wall opposite the bed.
Spa Guest Room
Thoughtful in-room amenities included the rainstick on the bed, which the Spa uses as their signature way to note the end of treatments, a pretty bamboo plant added live greenery to the room, and complimentary bottles of water helped to remind guests that it is important to stay hydrated as Reno is at an elevation of 4,506 feet.
Two closets and a chest of drawers provided more than ample space for longer stay guests. Other in-room amenities included a safe, mini-refrigerator, iron and ironing board, and Spa robes and slippers.
The green and white marble bathroom held a wide selection of June Jacobs Spa Collection toiletries and a host of thoughtful amenities including a scale, vanity/shaving mirror, hairdryer, and a Keurig Coffeemaker with a selection of coffees and teas.

The Spa Experience
Couples Massage Suite
Being on the Spa and pool floor provided us with quick access to the pools each morning where we started our day off with a swim in the outdoor pool before exploring Reno, as well as to the Spa. The Forbes 4-Star Spa Atlantis is 30,000 square feet of luxurious space to pamper its guests with an exceptionally diverse Spa treatment menu provided in its stunning state-of-the-art 15 treatment room facility. We thoroughly enjoyed experiencing the Spa and its treatments during our stay.

Toucan Charlie’s – Upscale Buffet
Chef Ravyn Rodriques
Toucan Charlie’s is the property’s upscale buffet restaurant where Chef Ravyn Rodrigues is the talent in the kitchen. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast there, as well as their Friday Seafood Buffet, where we indulged in raw oysters, Jonas Crab, King Crab,Dungeness Crab, Jumbo Shrimp, Blackened Salmon, Lobster Ravioli, and even sampled the carving station. Then there were the amazing desserts from Executive Pastry Chef Kayline Johnson and her team. Cakes, crumbles, pastries, puddings, mousses, cookies, assorted gelato flavors, and even freshly made cotton candy, tempted our eyes and our palates.

Manhattan Deli
Open-Faced Reuben
To think that we traveled all the way to Reno, Nevada to eat New York-style deli food for lunch, however the food was delicious! We had an overstuffed Open-Faced Reuben sandwich on rye bread served with creamy coleslaw, and a grilled cheese and tomato on rye with crispy french fries accompanied by half-sour pickles. We continued the deli experience with Dr. Brown’s Root Beer and Dr. Brown’s Cream Soda. Although the New York Cheesecake and the Carrot Cake beckoned invitingly from behind the glass display case, alas, after the ample lunch, we just had to say, no.

Conveniently located a short drive from the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa provided us with the perfect location from which to enjoy the diversity of offerings at the property as well as explore the area attractions, the mountains, and Lake Tahoe.
