We took our taste buds to Sicily
with Vento
Di Mare Nero d'Avola certified organic wine produced by Cantine Ermes.
Spring is here and it is the perfect opportunity to think, drink, and eat
healthy, so we decided to try organic wine. Nero d'Avola is an indigenous grape
that makes Sicily its home, and the Vento Di Mare Nero d'Avola is a rich, dark
red wine with an aromatic nose and layers of flavors on the palate. Saluti!

VARA Winery & Distillery located in Albuquerque,
New Mexico has a diverse and delectable selection of wines imported
from Spain that go beyond the standard offerings. We love their Vara
Garnacha 2018, a flavorful blend of Garnacha, Tempranillo, and Syrah grapes
that is absolutely delicious. Juicy, fruit forward, currant, cocoa notes, and a
slightly spicy finish, this is another great wine to experience. Cheers!

Looking to expand your white wine
horizons for 2021 and go beyond the usual chardonnay, sauvignon blanc or pinot
grigio? We just "discovered" VARA
Viura 2018 imported from Spain and bottled by
VARA in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which is a sumptuously delectable
blend of Viura, Muscat of Alexandria, and Albarino grapes. The VARA Viura
2018, Vino Blanco Español, is a dry, crisp
white wine with lush green apple, citrus, and mineral notes. With only
13.2% alcohol by volume, it is a nice lower alcohol choice for 2021. Cheers!

Spain and bottled by VARA in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A
delectable blend of tempranillo and garnacha grapes provide the wine with a
nice balance of body, structure, and incredible layers of flavors. The Vara
Tempranillo 2018 Español is delicious to drink on its own or enjoyed with food.
Cheers!

It was a perfect late summer
day with the sky so blue it was almost surreal, with grapes ripe and
golden in
the bright sunlight set against the vibrant green leaves. It was

As oenophiles, we have traveled the world in search of the grape. We have spent weeks driving through the Burgundy region, have passed many happy hours tasting in the Rhine region, have journeyed great distances to wineries in Switzerland, to the Chianti region, to Sicily, Malta, Cyprus, Canada, and the United States. Sometimes, we forget about the wineries close to home, namely the Bucks County Wine Trail in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Wine, the elixir of the Gods, ranging from the palest yellow to the deepest burgundy, attracts oenophiles like bees to honey, who covet the bottles. However, when the cellars are too full, or the timing is especially fruitful, the bottles are put on the auction block. Such was the case of the Superlative Modern Cellar auction at Christie's in New York.
