Blues singer, songwriter, and pianist Ben Levin is already making headway in the world of the Blues at age 22. His album, Ben Levin – Still Here is 12-tracks of the vintage Blues sound that he loves; it is a Blues release for Blues aficionados. Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, Ben Levin clearly lets his passion fly on his newest release that hit the streets on October 22, 2021, on the Vizztone label. Joining Ben Levin on the release are Aron Levin on guitar, Chris Douglas on bass, and Oscar Bernal on drums.

Ben Levin – Still Here was produced by Ben Levin and Matt Hueneman and released on the Vizztone label.

Ben Levin has the style and crooner good looks of the vintage Blues players backed by his impressive talent as a singer, songwriter, and pianist. Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, Ben started taking piano lessons early in his young life, played his first festival at age 13, and by age 15 he was playing piano in his father, Aron Levin’s band, The Heaters. At age 17, he self-released a debut album, Ben’s Blues. Award nominations and awards started to roll in along with festival and club invitations to play in Europe and the United States. Hard work and a follow-up release on the Vizztone label, helped keep the vibe going, and his newest release, Ben Levin – Still Here, shows that he has the determination and the talent to keep rolling with the Blues.

The 12-track release opens with the song, Love And Friendship, which shines with its sparkling piano and crystalline notes blended with Ben Levin’s laid back "vintage" Blues style. Next on the playlist is the title track, Still Here, written by Ben and his father, Aron Levin, who also plays guitar on this stellar release. They slow the pace with heartfelt lyrics, "…watched them take you away in the dark with a heavy heart…" Aron’s picking guitar style accents the way through this heart rendering song.

Ben picks up the pace on That’s The Meal, then segues into a 1947 Jimmy Liggins song, I Can’t Stop It, which is fabulous Jump Blues. Next up is another Ben Levin song, Bad Idea, followed by Please Let Me Get One Word In, written by Ben and Aron Levin, which has a rich R&B flair and slows the pace. Ben picks the pace back up again on the "Billy Boy" Arnold and S. Thompson 1956 song, Kissing At Midnight.

Next up is an original song written by Ben and Aron Levin called Crown Jewel, which is a fantastic R& B song with guitar and piano instrumental. Christmas Rain follows, another song written by father and son, which has a slow piano intro that segues into soulful lyrics on this sad lament. Ben picked up the pace on his original song, Her Older Brother, an up-tempo Jump Blues piece with pristine piano and great fun lyrics about an older brother watching out for a younger sister.

The release continues with the up-tempo I Wonder What’s The Matter followed by the original Ben Levin song, I’m Your Essential Worker, which is down and sultry Blues with trilling piano notes that sparkle to close out the release.
