The Hotel Concord
We stayed at The Hotel Concord in late August 2019, the day after it celebrated its one-year anniversary and were impressed with its blend of luxurious chic and contemporary design with historic elements. Concord is the capital of New Hampshire, and historic political photographs deftly melded with the stunning artwork that lined the public spaces.
Lobby
Directly connected to an indoor parking garage, guests may access the hotel via the 3rd floor of the parking garage or enter via the front door on South Main Street. Guestrooms are located on the fourth and sixth floors, and a lavish continental breakfast is offered each morning on the first floor. There are Executive Lounges on both the fourth and sixth floor where guests can relax and read abook or one of the complimentary newspapers, enjoy a crisp apple, or converse with friends and family.
Junior Suite
We stayed in a very spacious Junior Suite on the fourth floor where a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows provided us with sweeping views of South Main Street where we could see all the way to the State House with its distinctive gold dome. State-of-the-art in-room features included automated drapery controls and an Amazon Alexa Dot to assist us with requests.
Gracious in-room amenities included a large Samsung flatscreen television, a Keurig coffee machine with a selection of Starbuck coffees and teas positioned on a large chest of drawers that was a perfect way to start our day or as a little pick-me-up in the late afternoon, as well as bottled water, and a mini-refrigerator. A pull-out safe large enough to hold a laptop, as well as robes, slippers, iron and ironing board completed thoughtful amenities.
Guest Room – Relax and Enjoy
The Junior Suite featured a king bed dressed in pristine white linens and a plethora of decorative accent pillows to pick up the gray, wood accent wall, the mushroom colored upholstered and brass studded high headboard, and the patterned area rug over the hardwood floors. Nightstands and wall sconces for reading flanked the bed.
There was a navy sleeper sofa placed in front of the wall of windows with a small coffee table that provided a comfortable place to watch the television, listen to music, or read the in-room Concord magazine. A tall floor lamp and a chair with ottoman was placed in the corner of the room, and there was a large desk perfect for business travelers to work. A full-length gold framed mirror and artwork graced the walls. A leather luggage rack in the foyer completed the in-room features.
The white marble bathroom was very spacious and had a wood and marble bench, William Roam toiletries, a vanity/shaving mirror, and a hairdryer. The walk-in tiled shower had an adjustable showerhead on a brushed brass pole for guests to adjust to the proper height as well as adjust the type of water pressure they would like.
The Gym
The hotel has an onsite fitness center, The Gym, for guest use, and provides access to the local YMCA. Guests looking for entertainment do not even need to leave the building, as the Red River Theatre in located on site.
Continental Breakfast
In the morning, we started our day with their complimentary continental breakfast where there was a nice selection of juices, coffee, iced coffee, and a large assortment of teas. Fresh as well as dried fruit and granola, a selection of cereals, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, breads, bagels, muffins, scones, and Belgian waffles ensured that there was a varied selection to appeal to diverse palates.
Hotel Bar
What we especially appreciated about the hotel was its perfect location and being able to walk to visit the State House, the New Hampshire Historical Society, the Saturday Concord Farmers Market, to the eclectic boutique shops, and to restaurants. A gorgeous hotel with its many amenities, a professional and knowledgeable concierge team, and its prime location made our stay at The Hotel Concord absolutely delightful.
