1938 MG TA Tickford Drophead Coupe - photo by Luxury Experience Since 1996, the annual Greenwich Concours d’Elegance held in Greenwich, Connecticut attracts the best-of-the-best including rare, exceptional, and even unusual motorcars and motorcycles over the course of 2-days for its "Festival of Speed and Style" held in Roger Sherman Baldwin Park featuring American and International vehicles. Luxury Experience is proud to bring you the experience of some of the show highlights from the International show day.

 

Highlights from the 2000s

Every year there are standout motorcars that make you stop in your tracks and immediately take notice. Here are a few of the highlights from the 2000s from the June 3, 2018 Greenwich Concours d’Elegance.

2018 SCG 0035 by MJV Cars, LLC

The ice-white sleek and sexy 2018 SCG 0035 presented by MJV Cars, LLC was definitely a showstopper with its two-tone blue interior! Manufactured by Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, LLC, the 2018 SCG 0035 made its debut at the 2017 Geneva Auto Show. This impressive carbon fiber chassis has a 4.4-liter V-8engine and 750 hp! The competition version 003C, finished First in Class at the 24 hours of Nurburgring. If you are afraid of sticker shock, look away before you read the price of this exceptional motorcar … $2.2 million.

2018 Ford GT

2018 Ford GT presented by Fred Donner. Ford debuted the new GT at the 2015 North American International Auto Show. Facts: carbon fiber body, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 rated at 647 hp, with a top speed of 216 mph. Two black racing stripes that run down the center of the car add extra pizzazz.

Another interesting entry was the midnight blue 2007 Spyker Laviolette presented by Ray D. The Dutch Laviolette is a variant ofthe Spyker C8, and only 26 of them were made in 2007. Facts: 4.2-liter V-8 engine, 400 hp.

1967 Lamborghini 400 GT 2+2 presented by Arthur Mbanefo.Designed by Carrozzeria Touring, this unrestored beauty has 3,929 cc, a V-12engine, 320 hp, and only 13,000 km.

1963 Ferrari Luxxo 250 GL

1963 Ferrari Lusso 250 GL presented by Marti Kalko. The 250GTL was Ferrari’s luxury grand tourer with a body by Pininfarina. What makes the Ferrari Lusso 250 GTL so exceptional is that they only produced 351. Facts: 12-cyclinder, 240-hp.

1947 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith presented by Nick Grewal. What makes the Silver Wraith so interesting it that it was Rolls-Royce’s first post-war car. It was built as a chassis only, you picked the coach builder. This car was coach-built by Gurney Nutting and restored in 2017 to its former glory.

Three outstanding motorcars from the 1930s included the 1938 MG TA Tickford Drophead Coupe presented by Jim and Susan Wulf, the 1937 BMW 328 Roadster presented by The Cultivated Collector, and the 1932MG FI Magna Stiles Special Threesome presented by Malcolm and Barbara Appleton.

What makes the 1932 MG FI Magna Stiles Special Threesome so special is that there were only 30 ever built and only 5 are known to exist. It has a Stiles Special Threesome body and coachwork by James Young of Bromley. This little beauty was lovingly restored over 14-years.
