Anthony Geraci – Daydreams In Blue with Dennis Brennan released on the Shining Stone Records labelis an impressive 12-track Blues release that hits the street on July 10, 2020. Anthony Geraci is not only a gifted pianist he also shows his prowess as a talented a songwriter having written 10 of the songs on this release. Boston musician and his friend Dennis Brennan along with Troy Gonyea and Peter Ward contribute one song, and Anthony Geraci beautifully covers the 1941 hit Jelly, Jelly written by Earl Hines and William (Billy) Eckstein. Special guests on the release include the legendary guitarists Walter Trout and Monster Mike Welch.


 

Anthony Geraci Backstory

Anthony Geraci is a gifted pianist, Hammond organist, and composer, who has received numerous awards as well as many nominations from the prestigious Blues Foundation. As an intrepid 4-year old, he demanded a piano and got one. He started playing professionally early in life and realized a musical dream playing piano with such Blues giants as Muddy Waters, BB King, Otis Rush, Chuck Berry and many more. He honed his craft at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts where he earned a BA, followed by an MA from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. Anthony now calls Marshfield, Massachusetts home.

He shows his songwriting prowess writing 10 out of the 12 songs on Anthony Geraci – Daydreams In Blue with Dennis Brennan. The release opens with the track Love Changes Everything a Bluesy Jazzy number with Anthony working his magic on the piano complemented by Monster Mike Welch on guitar, Michael Mudcat Ward on acoustic bass, Scott Arruda on trumpet and Mark Early on sax, with Dennis Brennan providing the vocals.

Next in the playlist isTomorrow May Never Come, which has a classic 1950s timelessness to it. The band slides intoNo One Hears My Prayers, a standout of a song featuring the legendaryWalter Trouton lead guitar, andPeter Wardplaying rhythm guitar.

Anthony’s beautiful piano provides a gorgeous intro to Daydreams Of A Broken Fool. Bring on the funk with Dennis Brennan blazing away on the harmonica on the track Mister with Troy Gonyea playing guitar. Tutti Frutti Booty is Swing Blues at its best, so put your dancing shoes on for this fast-paced number.

Anthony’s piano is a standout on his cover of this slow and sultry Earl Hines and Billy Eckstein 1941 hit Jelly, Jelly. Boston musician and his friend Dennis Brennan along with Troy Gonyea and Peter Ward penned the song Dead Man’s Shoes.

The release continues with Hard To Say I Love You, followed by Living In The Shadow Of The Blues, and Crazy Blues/Mississippi Woman. The releases closes with the track Ode To Todd, Ella and Mike Ledbetter, a luscious instrumental captivating romp on the piano by Anthony Geraci.
