Albert Castiglia – Righteous Souls was Produced by Mike Zito, Producer and Engineer Kid Andersen, recorded at Greaseland Studios, and released on the Gulf Coast Records label. With the release of Righteous Souls, Albert Castiglia has fourteen (14) solo releases along with countless collaborations and appearances with music icons such as Mike Zito and John Ginty, to name a few. In addition, he has also won three Blues Music Awards for Album of the Year (twice) and Artist of the Year.
Righteous Souls sets the tempo with the opening track, Centerline, written by Albert Castiglia and Muddy Kid Music Inc., featuring Popa Chubby on guitar, dueling it out with Albert’s powerful guitar licks against Albert’s Bluesy vocals. The cover track, Get Down To The Nitty Gritty, features Alabama Mike on vocals.
The track, Mama, I Love You, written by Albert Castiglia and Muddy Kid Music, Inc. features Kevin Burton’s vocals to complement Albert’s on this very moving love song. The classic track, You Can’t Judge a Book by the Cover, features Christone Kingfish Ingram on guitar and Ryane Castiglia on vocals. The cover of the Rick Danko and Eric Clapton track All Our Past Times features Danielle Nicole on vocals and Joe Bonamassa on guitar as the band and guest musicians lay their Blues interpretation to this powerful song.
Till They Take it Away, written by Albert Castiglia and Muddy Kid Music, Inc., features Ally Venable on guitar to set up dueling guitars with Albert. They drive a deep Blues narrative with their guitars along with a tight baseline and Albert’s vocals. The haunting harmonica of Rick Estrin is featured on the track, Come On In The House, while Jimmy Carpenter’s saxophone holds the melody together on the cover of You Were Wrong.
The release closes with tracks The Dollar Done Fell, featuring Josh Smith on guitar, an Albert Castiglia original track, No Tears Left To Cry, featuring Gary Hoey on guitar and the closing track What My Momma Told Me featuring Rick Estrin on harmonica and Monster Mike Welch on guitar, the track features sizzling harmonica and lashing guitar solos, and closes with a set of down and dirty Blues riffs.
