Tasting Notes: The color is ruby red, and you can see through the wine. The nose is aromatic, with dried red fruit, dark cherries, and spice on the palate. Tannins provide structure, and although drinkable now, could also spend some time in the cellar to elicit the best from the wine.
Luxury Experience Pairing
With the waning days of summer and an abundance of zucchini and fresh tomatoes at the farmers market, we paired this delicious Nebbiolo wine with Italian comfort food, Luxury Experience – Pasta Fagioli (pronounced FAH-ZOOL). We sauteed Vidalia onions, garlic, zucchini, fresh tomatoes, sundried tomatoes, canned crushed tomatoes, and fresh herbs, and enhanced it with Lovatelli Monferrato DOC Nebbiolo 2022 to create a rich sauce to mix with pasta. As they say in Italy, “Mangia Bene!” (Eat well.)

Method for the Vegetables: Heat a sauté pan, add the EVOO, then onions and garlic, cover and sweat them until translucent. Add zucchini and fresh tomatoes, and sauté for 5 minutes. Add the sundried tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, cannellini beans, salt, pepper, and herbs, cover, and cook until the vegetables are tender. Add the wine and let the sauce and vegetables simmer for 20 minutes.
Boil pasta (we used Radiators) and cook until al dente (or your preferred doneness), drain, then mix the pasta with the vegetable and bean sauce. Serve with freshly ground Pecorino Romano cheese and garnish with fresh basil.
