Dada Masilo’s reimagined version of Giselle was a brilliant triumph of a success at the Quick Center for the Arts at Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut. Award-winning South African choreographer and dancer Dada Masilo and The Dance Factory gave a modern, contemporary dance twist to the classic ballet, resulting in a deeper, richer, more intense and powerful interpretation to the theme of love, betrayal, and the supernatural. We attended the Ecstatic Music Festival® presented by Kaufman Music Center, where we had the pleasure of experiencing two musical works, Clockworks & Songs of Mourning, the fourth in a series of nine programs. The works featured the avant-garde/modern Jazz and pop music of Patrick Zimmerli, Ethan Iverson, Chris Tordini, John Hollenbeck, Carla Kihledst and Jeremy Flower. The Ecstatic Music Festival® is a series of 9 concerts from January 27 until April 26, 2018.

The Moscow Festival Ballet in Giselle at the Quick Center for the Arts at Fairfield University "where creativity and culture come to life" in Fairfield, Connecticut was a spectacular evening of classic ballet. Giselle was first performed in 1841 by the Ballet de Théâtre de l’Académie de Musique, and the Moscow Festival Ballet provided a gorgeous, classic interpretation of one of ballet’s finest dances.

For 2018, The Orchid Show, an annual tradition at the New York Botanical Garden for the past 16 years, features Belgian Floral Artist Daniel Ost, who has created spectacular large-scale installations that are a feast for the senses.
