Lord Nil 7 Deadly Sins

If you love watching escape artists, you will definitely want to see the show, Lord Nil: Seven Deadly Sins at Stage 42 on Theatre Row in New York City. We had the thrill of experiencing the show on Saturday, August 9, 2025, and it was a performance that will linger in our memories for an exceptionally long time. One of the amazing escapes included Lord Nil being wrapped in chains secured with padlocks, then submerged in a clear box filled with water with a closed lid secured with two padlocks. Watching him hold his breath for several minutes while picking the locks to remove the chains and escape before drowning, had our hearts, and the rest of the audience’s hearts, pounding so loudly they sounded like a drumbeat, and this was only the first of his many escapes. Unbelievable! Lord Nil: Seven Deadly Sins runs at Stage 42 in New York until August 31, 2025. You will not want to miss it!

On Saturday, August 9, 2025, we had the extreme pleasure of seeing the show, Lord Nil: Seven Deadly Sins at Stage 42 located at 422 West 42nd Street in Manhattan between 9th and Dyer Avenue, in Theatre Row. Escape artists have always fascinated us with their ability to defy what seems like impossible challenges. Beginning with us watching old clips of the great escape artist, Harry Houdini (1874-1926), our fascination has continued throughout the years, and each time we watch an escape artist, they intrigue our imaginations.

As a way of background on Lord Nil, he was born in Italy, has perfected his craft as an illusionist and escapist performing throughout the world, and was a competitor on America’s Got Talent (season 13, 2018) becoming the first Italian to make It to the quarter finals.

Watching Lord Nil during his New York performance was exciting as he confronted deep seated fears that many of us harbor inside including the fear of water, the fear of fire, the fear of heights, the fear of claustrophobia, and other demons. Watching Lord Nil in action confronting each of the Seven Deadly Sins: Gluttony, Sloth, Pride, Envy, Greed, Lust, and Wrath, in a variety of increasing and overwhelming challenges and obstacles, was an engaging and enthralling experience that had us on the edge of our seats. Adding to the experience and the drama of the 75-minute show billed as “Lord Nil – The Most Dangerous Show” was the sultry character, Vice, played by Steph Payne, who engaged the audience and tantalizingly described each of the seven sins and the challenges set forth to Lord Nil, with Italian guitarist and composer Erik Ventrice providing the rock music vibe, and a talented ensemble of dancers who kept the show in motion between Lord Nil’s escapes.

However, it was Lord Nil himself, who defied each challenge whether it was water, fire, smoke, and others that made such a lasting and indelible imprint in our minds. Lord Nil is a master escape artist and must be seen live in performance to genuinely appreciate his aptitude and skill. Bravo!
