We had a fabulous stay at The J House Greenwich on August 25, 2023. When the hotel described their guestrooms as being high-tech, little did we know what that meant, until we experienced this luxury boutique hotel. Their technology included control panels where we could control the solar shades, blackout shades, control all the lights, turn on or off the privacy light outside the room, and more from various panels conveniently located around the guestroom by simply pressing a button. Guestrooms are well-appointed with thoughtful amenities. Contemporary artwork abounds and staying at The J House Greenwich is like staying in a fabulous art gallery.
Guests that like to travel with their dogs will appreciate that dogs under 50 pounds are permitted in designated pet friendly rooms for a fee of $75 per night. Pet friendly rooms are subject to availability and must be booked in advance. Where to Dine – Tony’s at The J House
We had a fabulous dinner at Tony’s at The J House during our stay at the hotel on Friday, August 25, 2023. Since opening 5 years ago, the restaurant has earned a dedicated clientele of locals, celebrities, and leisure and business travelers.
Tony’s at The J House
The attractive dining room features brown leather banquettes, tables dressed in whit linens flanked by dark wood chairs with black leather seats, and large red “drum” lampshade lights that softly illuminate and add a warm glow to the room, with vintage mirrors and four trees adding to the inviting ambience.
Grilled Octopus
As the restaurant has an inspired cocktail menu, we began our evening with two of their cocktails, the Passion Mojito, and the Old Fashion. As fans of dark rum, the Passion Mojito made with Diplomatico Exclusivo Dark Rum, Chinola Passion Fruit Liqueur, Lime Juice, and simple syrup, served in a “Collins” glass, was a great introduction to the restaurant’s bar style. Also nice was the Old Fashion made with Redemption Bourbon Infused with Oranges and Luxardo Cherries House Aged in Oak Casks.
Colorado Rack of Lamb
Two of the many highlights from our dinner included the Grilled Octopus, accompanied by a generous mound of potato salad with sliced red onion, olive oil, and lemon, and the Colorado Rack of Lamb which had a very tasty Dijon mustard crust, and was accompanied by garlic mashed potatoes, and lamb au jus.

If the mere mention of the names Bugatti, Ferrari, Isotta Fraschini, Maserati, Aston Martin, Bentley, McLaren, Packard, and Rolls-Royce, start your heart racing, attending the Greenwich Concours d’Elegance should be on your “must attend” calendar.
1929 Isotta Fraschini
Since 1996, the Greenwich Concours d’Elegance has attracted car enthusiasts who travel to the 2-day annual show for the opportunity to see antique, vintage, rare, exotic, and supercars. Greenwich Farmer’s Market – Seasonal – Saturdays
A visit to the Greenwich Farmer’s Market on Saturdays is a great place to mingle with locals as well as bring home a “taste of Connecticut.” This is where we like to buy our zucchini flowers to stuff and deep-fry in a tempura batter, along with organic vegetables, syrup, honey, plants, and bouquets of flowers. It is also a great place to pick up a loaf of bread and artisanal cheeses to enjoy for a picnic at one of Greenwich’s beaches, parks, or summer concerts in the park.
The Greenwich Farmer’s Market opens in mid-May and runs throughout the December holiday season. Saturday Only Hours: 9:30 am until 1:00 pm. The market is in Arch Street and Horseneck Lane Commuter Parking lot. There is free parking during “market hours.”
