The Grand Miramar Puerto Vallarta experience began at reception with the professional and friendly staff offering us a cold beverage and a cool, scented towel. Comfortably seated under the attractive palapa with its colorful hanging lamps, we admired the view of the water, and received our first "souvenir" in Puerto Vallarta, a woven leather wristband to designate our guest status to the hotel security.
Grand Miramar Puerto Vallarta
The hotel has 72 one-bedroom Junior Suites, 8 corner Master Suites with Jacuzzi, 18 two-bedroom Residences, 12 three-bedroom Residences, and 2 Penthouses with four-bedrooms and a private Jacuzzi.
Reception Area
We stayed in a luxurious and spacious one-bedroom Junior Suite in the new tower completed in 2013, which had a very comfortable residential feel, rather than that of a hotel, with its entrance foyer and state-of-the-art well-equipped granite kitchen complete with Moulinex coffeemaker, Moulinex toaster, microwave, two-burner stove, mini-refrigerator stocked with a selection of water, soda, and beer, a dishwasher, china, cutlery, a selection of glasses, utensils, and cookware. Returning to the hotel after spending the day exploring Puerto Vallarta felt like coming home to a luxury apartment; very nice indeed.
View from Reception
The bedroom area had a coffered ceiling with ceiling fan, and the king bed had an attractive wood headboard and the bed was dressed with a white duvet and a colorful striped throw and matching decorative pillows. There was an upholstered bench at the end bed, and large silver lamps with white shades on wood nightstands on either side of the bed, and there was ample closet space with a safe on the shelf.
Guest Room
The comfortable sitting area had large sliding doors to provide a wall of windows dressed with sheers, a geometric area rug, a sofa with a plethora of colorful pillows, a small wood table with magazines, a round glass table with two chairs, and a desk and chair. Paintings graced the walls and silver objet d’art and glass decorations added visual interest to the shelves. There was a television opposite the sofa and another television opposite the bed on a chest of drawers.
Sitting Area
The spacious marble bathroom had a large jetted tub with robes and slippers artistically arranged on the edge, a vanity with double sinks and Bath & Body Works amenities, a hairdryer, vanity mirror, an enclosed toilet for privacy, a walk-in glass shower with rain shower head large enough for two, full-length mirrors on the bathroom doors and on the bathroom wall, and there were shutters over the tub which could be opened to the bedroom.
View from Guest Room Balcony
The pièce de résistance was the terrace located off the sitting room with its incredible views where we could see the landmark Los Arcos National Marine Park to the far left, and the skyline of Puerto Vallarta to the far right. We spent many early mornings sitting on the terrace relaxing with cups of coffees, reading books, and simply admiring the view.
Grand Miramar Spa
The hotel’s many amenities include a Beauty and Nail Salon, Boutique, Business Center with small conference room, and Library where you can borrow one of the many books or use the computer, and there is complimentary WI-FI located throughout the hotel.
Inviting Chairs – What a View!
During our stay we experienced a pampering and indulgent couple’s massage at the attractive Germaine de Capuccini Spa, which has four state-of-the-art, light and airy treatment rooms, steam rooms, showers, and men’s and women’s locker rooms.
Pool
The hotel has three outdoor pools and a large Jacuzzi on the lower level convenient to the Bar La Terraza where we enjoyed swimming and pool-side drinks and snacks, as well as an adults-only outdoor infinity pool and Jacuzzi located on the Sky Restaurante level.
Sky Lounge – Relax and Enjoy
For an unparallel view of the evening sky glistening with stars, or sunbathing during the day, we enjoyed spending time on the Sky Lounge located on the highest floor of the Grand Miramar Puerto Vallarta.
Rainbow viewed from Sky Lounge
In the morning we began each day with a wonderful buffet or a la carte breakfast at the Sky Restaurante before venturing out to explore the city. On one morning we had the good fortune of seeing a full rainbow while having breakfast, which was the perfect start to our day. Two of our breakfast highlights included Hot Cakes served with blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, and cantaloupe, and Eggs Benedict, poached eggs on toasted biscuit with Canadian bacon and hollandaise sauce. We also became huge fans of Juego Verde (Green Juice), which the chef made with celery, nopales, parsley, pineapple juice, orange juice, and spinach.
Live Jazz for Breakfast
Eggs Benedict
We had two wonderful dinners at the restaurant, as guests can select from either the all-inclusive plan or the European dining plan. Highlights from one of our dinners included Mixed Salad with Tuna and Guanabana Sauce, Surf and Turf which was a tender beef medallion topped with a crown of grilled shrimp with a rich pool of four pepper sauce and roasted garlic and fennel sauce accompanied by potato au gratin and sautéed vegetables, and White Chocolate Mousse filled with red fruit coulis and adorned with a glorious crown of spun sugar and garnished with mint leaves and a strawberry.
Surf and Turf
Although not located on a beach, the hotel provides complimentary shuttle service to their Beach Club on Los Muertos Beach, a 10-minute ride from the hotel, providing guests with the opportunity to partake of the mountains as well as the beach. Los Muertos Beach also has shopping, water sports activities (jet skis for rent, parasailing, and
