Designer Son Jung Wan takes inspiration from Morocco for Spring Summer 2014 "Away" Collection as seen on the catwalk during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center in New York. Luxury Experience brings you a few of the highlights we saw of the 40-look women’s and men’s collection to inspire your wardrobe.
Born and raised in South Korea, Designer Son Jung Wan launched her brand in 1989 and is "one of the most famous high-end designer labels in Korea." After showing in Paris, she made her first debut collection in New York in February 2011 and has continued to show in New York each season.
For Spring Summer 2014, Son Jung Wan took inspiration from Morocco for her 40-look collection comprised of women’s and men’s looks. Sharing her thoughts for her "Away" collection, she said, "Casablanca, a city that is better known for the movie; the fatally attractive Marrakech; the city for healing broken hearts, Essaouria; and even local get lost in the maze city of Fez. Expressing the true Moroccan style with the feeling of energy, this collection mixes the dreamy attraction and splendid color of each city."

"This neo-geo-like collection is handmade with seamless edging technique, using chalky whites and earth tone colors of the sun-drenched Sahara Desert, while beautifully curved arched gates and colorful geometric patterns of the tiles cover the fabrics."
For Spring Summer 2014 Designer Sun Jung Wan uses a color palette of neutrals, white, off-white, dove gray, gray, nude, nude beige, cream, and intersperses hints of color using nude pink, yellow, citron, blush, peach, coral, and gold for her collection consisting of jumpsuits, shorts, pants, skirts, and dresses for women. The men’s collection includes shorts and pants, jackets, vests, and shirts.
Sun Jung Wan opened the Spring Summer 2014 Collection show with a striking and sexy, form-fitting off-white jumpsuit with a high neck and slit side cutouts; followed by an off-white asymmetrical hem less dress.

Other highlights of the women’s collection was her off-white jacket with a hand embroidered and metal detail collar with off-white silk asymmetrical skirt; a nude silk dress with pattern details; a one shoulder Moroccan inspired pattern dress with peach chiffon drape; and her coral sequin mini-dress with open weave leather hem that added a burst of color to the collection.

Two of the men’s collection highlights included a double lapel men’s jacket paired with white sheen pants and a white knit top; and a nude perforated leather vest paired with a beige silk pant with pattern detail.
