The Iridium was the perfect venue for Blues Rocker Dana Fuchs and Jon Diamond, her longtime writing partner and guitarist, for a 2-night gig in the heart of New York City. Playing as the Dana Fuchs Duo without the rest of her band, gave them the freedom to create an intimate evening showcasing their talent, as well as new and old music, that will long be remembered by fans.

Jon Diamond and Dana Fuchs
Dana Fuchs came onto Luxury Experience's radarscope when we
reviewed her CD Love
To Beg back in 2011 and we were taken away by her talent. At the
time, (Edward F. Nesta) aptly wrote, "Sultry Singer Songwriter Dana Fuchs adds
another notch to her impressive credentials with Dana Fuchs - Love To Beg,
her debut Ruf Records label release. A stunning rocker with a voice reminiscent
of the legendary Janis Joplin, Dana Fuchs captivates with her lyrics and music
co-written with Jon Diamond, and her powerful impact."

Dana Fuchs
We first heard Dana perform live with her band at the
release party for her follow-up CD, Bliss
Avenue in 2013, and if
we needed further proof of her impressive talent, she not only cemented the
deal, she put her figurative hand and footprint in it. Since then, we have interviewed
Dana, continued to review her CDs, and heard her perform countless times, and
she continues to thrill, as an artist, singer songwriter, performer, and person,
with her never-failing enthusiasm and professionalism.

Jon Diamond
On Friday, August 25, 2017, we had the opportunity to catch
Dana and Jon Diamond playing as a duo, without the rest of her band, at the
legendary Iridium on Broadway in New York City. It was a night to remember,
getting to know Dana and her music on a much more personal level. Performing a
mix of previously released music, new music off her forthcoming album, a few
well-loved covers, and her style of engaging the audience throughout with her
stories, was an irresistible combination that resonated soundly with her
audience, many of whom have been following Dana Fuchs since her off-Broadway
performance in Love, Janis.

Jon Diamond and Dana Fuchs
One of six children, with a backstory of heartbreak and
tragedy, she opened the Iridium performance with a new song, Ready To Rise, that will be on her new
album - Love Lives On. In addition to
her sultry yet powerful voice, Dana crafts lyrics that make you want to stand
up and cheer her on when she sings, "... I'm tired of losing, and I'm ready to rise."
She followed that with two cuts of her 2013 Bliss Avenue release, namely Bliss Avenue and Handful Too Many. Moving on to new music, she sang, Calling All Angels, a song she wrote for
her mother who died in 2016 while she was pregnant for her son, Aidan, (born
September 2016), followed by another new song, Faithful Sinner, which she wrote as a tribute to her late father, with
heartfelt lyrics that cut to the heart.

Dana Fuchs
Taking it back to the days when she first met Jon Diamond,
she beautifully covered the late great Etta James' 1962 song, I'd Rather Go Blind, that would have
made Etta proud. Needing to belt it out, she moved on to Set It On Fire off her 2011 Love
To Beg release, then moved to her country-flavored tune, Nothin' On Mind.
Priming the pump for the arrival of her forthcoming release,
she performed three more new cuts, Back
Street Baby, Fight My Way, and Sedative.
She ended the show with two songs from her Love, Janis days, at the request of
longtime fans in the audience, Me and
Bobby McGee, and Mercedes Benz, which
had the audience, including (Edward and Debra) happily singing along.
When the audience needed just one more song before venturing
back out onto Broadway on a beautiful summer night in New York City, Dana came
back out and performed the hard-hitting rock song, Helter Skelter, always happy to provide fans with just a little
more, or what they call in New Orleans, a lagniappe.
Dana has a new CD coming out called, Love Lives On, so be sure
to check her website: www.DanaFuchs.com for more details.
Keep enjoying the music!
