La Salle à Manger, located at the Hotel Raphael, www.raphael-hotel.com, is worth a stop on your next visit to Paris. The intimate elegant dining room has painted murals on the walls, sumptuous fabrics grace the large windows, the china is Limoges and the food is very good. We enjoyed an amuse bouche of celery root mousse, followed by Saumon fumé de Norwége, créme de Raifort (Smoked Norwegian Salmon with Horseradish cream and lemon), Six Oysters presented six ways, Scallops roasted with endive and carrot fans with orange aroma, and Peppered veal loin fried with country scented basil with Modena vinegar. For dessert we sampled the Exotic fruit with mango sorbet and Warm apple slices with caramel and cider with cider ice cream, followed by a delicious assortment of miniature pastries and sweets.
