On Tuesday, September 12, 2017, fans of Los Lobos gathered at Fairfield Theatre Company’s StageOne for an intimate evening of music, and Luxury Experience was there. Opening for Los Lobos, was the band, Girls, Guns & Glory based out of Boston, Massachusetts, who played an acoustic performance. Consisting of singer songwriter Ward Hayden on acoustic guitar and lead vocals, Josh Kiggins on drum kit and mandolin, Paul Dilley on upright bass, and Cody Nielsen contributing vocals, lead guitar, and slide guitar, Girls, Guns & Glory proved they are an act to sit up, take notice, and follow. Founded in 2005, this Country band is touring extensively throughout the US and Europe, so we recommend catching one of their performances or picking up one of their CDs and giving them a listen.
Girls, Guns & Glory
A few of the many Girls, Guns & Glory set highlights included their original songs, Mary Anne, and Root Cellar, both are cuts off their 2011 Sweet Nothings release, and Shake Like Jello off their 2014 Good Luck release. The band stated that they are fans of both Hank Williams and Willie Nelson, and they deftly covered Willie’s Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain.

It was an exceptional evening of music in the intimate setting of Fairfield Theatre Company’s StageOne, a 225-seat venue designed with seating on three sides of the stage, which gave the audience an opportunity for an up-close and personal Los Lobos experience.
Cesar Rosas
There were numerous highlights throughout their performance including select cuts off their 1992 Kiko release, Whiskey Trail, Wicked Rain, and Kiko & The Lavender Moon. Another highlight was My Baby’s Gone a cut from their 1987 By The Light Of The Moon release, Burn It Down, off their 2010 release, Tin Can Trust, and the high-powered three guitar onslaught song, Mas y Mas, off the 1996 release, Colossal Head.
David Hidalgo
The band interspersed a few songs in Spanish throughout the course of the evening including a few riffs of their iconic, La Bamba, and broke into a few well-loved, all-out Rock favorites, Crossroads, and Papa Was A Rolling Stone. Playing together for over 40 years, the band was extremely tight, and when three guitars played in tandem with one another, it was magical. Enrique "Bugs" Gonzalez is a very talented drummer, and his kick-it up into high gear drum solo was another high point of the evening. From start to finish, Los Lobos delivered a solid and exciting, and engaging performance.

The band tours extensively, so be sure to check out one of their upcoming performances. For those that want more than a single evening, Los Lobos will be playing on the Keeping The Blues Alive At Sea IV cruise from February 26 until March 2, 2018 that travels from Miami to Montego Bay, Jamaica.
