We love the taste and nuances of Irish Whiskey and were delighted to “discover” the award-winning Northcross Irish Whiskey distilled in Ireland in copper stills and aged in ex-Bourbon, Oloroso Sherry casks, and American Oak. This impressive Irish Whiskey is delectable sipped on its own neat, served over ice or with a wee bit of water, or used in a variety of cocktail and culinary recipes. Bottled and imported by Latitude Beverage Company, look for the elegant dark green and gold label with the mermaid and Irish harp on the front of the bottle. As they say in Ireland, Slainté!

While we recently “discovered” Northcross Irish Whiskey, this Irish Whiskey has been turning heads with judges and was a Double Gold Award Winner at the prestigious San Francisco Spirits Competition in 2023. With its delectable, layered nuances on the nose and on the palate, and with an inviting price point of $24.99 USD for a 750-ml bottle, Northcross Irish Whiskey is rapidly gaining new friends.

Whether we were sipping Northcross Irish Whiskey with a wee bit of water, using it in our cocktail creations, or using it in culinary recipes in (Edward’s) homemade Irish Soda Bread, (his) Irish Coffee Ice Cream, or in (Debra’s) Bread Pudding, this Irish Whiskey was an admirable, and very delicious, cocktail and culinary partner.

Product Information: Northcross Irish Whiskey, 43% alcohol/86-proof. Non-chill filtered. Bottles are marked with the signature of Master Blender Brian Watts.

Bottle Notes: “Northcross Irish Whiskey. This whiskey is crafted and matured at the Great Northern Distillery in County Louth, Ireland. With access to the purest water from the nearby Cooley Mountains, the Distillery sits near the shores of the Castletown River in the seaside town of Dundalk. Our triple wood expression is made from a blend of whiskies, aged in ex-Bourbon barrels, Sherry Casks, and virgin American Oak. Distilled and Aged in Ireland. Bottled by Latitude Beverage Co., Rumford, Rhode Island, United States.”

Tasting Notes: The color is light gold. On the nose, we noticed toasted oat aromas and honey. On the palate, we noted layered nuances of flavors: caramel and creamy butterscotch, with a rich viscosity, and a long, lingering, memorable finish. This Irish beauty whiskey has “long legs.”

Luxury Experience was “In The Kitchen and Behind The Bar®” creating two very tasty cocktails that showcase the layered nuances of Northcross Irish Whiskey with our recipes for Luxury Experience – Celtic Passion, and Luxury Experience – Lucky Leprechaun. We served both at our Saint Patrick’s Day Dinner to our large group of friends, and both cocktails were winners. While we served them for the holiday, these refreshing cocktails may become our all-summer long cocktail favorites.
