Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Greenwich International Film Festival (GIFF) honored Changemaker Golden Globe and Emmy-winning comedian Jerry Seinfeld and Jessica Seinfeld, Executive Producer of DAUGHTERS, founder of the Good+Foundation, and bestselling author, at their annual Changemaker Dinner Gala, held on November 13, 2024, at l’escale restaurant in Greenwich, Connecticut.
Throughout the years we have attended many of the Greenwich International Film Festival’s Changemaker Dinner Galas, where past notable Changemaker honorees included John Legend, Ty Stiklorius and Mike Jackson, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Gretchen Carlson, Eva Longoria Baston, Ashley Judd, Renée Zellweger, Christy Turlington Burns, Freida Pinto, Abigail Breslin, Trudy Styler, Harry Belafonte, and Mia Farrow. This year’s honorees, Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld, were a welcome addition to those making a positive impact on the world. Bravo!
Chairman of the Board and Founder Wendy Stapleton opened the Changemaker Gala celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Greenwich International Film Festival, followed by remarks by Executive Director Ginger Stickel. GIFF is a woman-owned 501(C)3, which has made an important and positive impact on the film community with their selection of films that change the lives of others through their annual film festival. As a small non-profit, it is especially noteworthy what these talented and creative women with vision have achieved in the ten years since its founding.
It was a GIFF night to remember that benefitted the Children’s Museum of Manhattan (CMOM) Family Connections Program, “which reunites parents incarcerated on Rikers Island and their children for an afternoon of play and learning at the museum. This first-of-its-kind national model is designed to strengthen parent-child bonds, reduce the trauma of separation on the child, motivate parents to improve behavior in custody, and reduce recidivism.” Chief Executive Officer and Museum Director Dana Schub connected with the audience as she described the program and those that it benefits, and how it changes the lives of many families.
After Comedian and Awards Presenter Amy Schumer, a close friend of the Seinfeld family, introduced Jerry and Jessica, they spoke with passion about their commitment to “giving back’ and about the importance of the CMOM Family Connections Program. Jessica also spoke about her film, DAUGHTERS. Afterwards, there was an interesting Q & A with Moderator and Comedian Jim Gaffigan.
As always, l’escale restaurant at the Delamar Greenwich, 500 Steamboat Road, was resplendent and perfectly attired for the gala evening, with a celebratory menu to match the occasion. The dynamic duo, MOJO provided the evening’s music, followed by an After Party with the fabulous DJ April Larken.
