Presented by Style Fashion Week, Designer Malan Breton Fall Winter 2018 Collection dazzled the audience with his exciting and stunning collection of menswear, womenswear, outerwear, and evening wear during his New York Runway Show in February 2018 at Cipriani 42nd Street® in New York City. Designer Malan Breton launched his eponymous collection in 2005 and has been a darling of the fashion world ever since with his cutting-edge creativity.
Twice ayear, in February and September, fashion industry insiders and fashionistas from around the world arrive in New York City to see the designer collections and neither rain, sleet, snow, nor ice will prevent the shows from happening. Thursday, February 8, 2018, was a cold day in New York City however, the weather did not deter me or fellow fashionistas from flocking to see what Designer Malan Breton had created for his Fall Winter 2018 New York Runway Show.
Housed in the sophisticated Italian Renaissance building that was once The Bowery Savings Bank, Cipriani 42nd Street® with its soaring ceilings, massive marble columns, marble floors, and long runway, was the perfect venue to showcase Malan Breton’s stunning Fall Winter 2018 collection. To get the party started, the talented Jazz musician Matthew Whitaker provided pre-show music before the models took to the runway.

Always cutting edge creative, Malan Breton went bold for his Menswear Fall Winter 2018 Collection with eye-catching details onhis arched, stand-up shoulders on suit jackets. Other highlights included ankle length coats, channeled puffy sateen knee-length, as well as hip length parkas with black fur trimmed hoods, and a plaid below the knee coat enhanced with a wide fur collar and fur cuffs paired with matching plaid pants. Malan also kept the collection fresh with his bold and vibrant red and orange elements seen in stripes and patterns.

For his Womenswear Fall Winter 2018 Collection Malan included wide, corseted waists on suit jackets as well as on gowns. A few of the collection highlights included an ankle length double breasted black coat, a red and black printed silk tuxedo with wide rounded black lapels with black piping on the outer leg, and a shiny knee length belted swing coat.

Malan went for the dramatic with his gold and black print strapless gown with an asymmetrical bodice and tuck pleats at the waist, which was cut high in the front and fellin a soft swooping line to the floor. A few of the other gown highlights included an exquisitely beaded black V-neck mermaid gown with full and floating ruffled cap sleeves, a romantic slate gray printed V-neck gown with full skirt that billowed out to a long train, and a strapless patterned gown with corseted lace-up back with a full patterned skirt paired with long gloves.

Cocktail party perfect, his strapless black dress with its wrapped bodice enhanced with fabric buttons down the front and large bow at the back, featured a swingy asymmetrical skirt and was paired with wide fishnet stockings and a chucky necklace, which gave the dress a timeless yet modern feel.
