Tequila Zarpado Blanco is a delectable white tequila that is perfect to use in a variety of cocktails. Made in small batches in Jalisco, Mexico from 100% Blue Agave, this clear, smooth tequila is imported by Latitude Beverage Co. in Massachusetts. From the bottle label’s attractive artwork, created by Mexican artist Joaquin Nava, to its wooden stopper, Tequila Zarpado Blanco makes a stylish statement for tequila fans. We had fun creating creative cocktail recipes and also used this stellar tequila in culinary recipes. Salud!

Product Information: Tequila Zarpado Blanco made in Jalisco, Mexico in small batches from fully mature 100% Pure Blue Agave grown in Los Valles of Jalisco. The blue agave is handpicked, then cooked, and fermented in steel vats, and is then double-distilled in Alembic stills. 40% alcohol. Retail: $26.99/750 ml bottle.

Bottle Notes: “This Tequila is handcrafted from 100% Blue Agave grown in the mineral-rich soils of the Valles of Jalisco. Double-distilled and produced in small batches. Tequila Zarpado Blanco is made at an award-winning, family-owned distillery using methods that have been developed for nearly four decades.”

Tasting Notes: The color is crystal clear. Sweet notes on the nose follow through on the palate with warmth and an earthy sweetness. The delectably lingering finish works well in cocktails, sipped on its own, or used to enhance the flavors in culinary recipes.

Luxury Experience – The Philosopher

Our cocktail, Luxury Experience – The Philosopher, is a semi-frozen “treat” made with Fabrizia Crema di Pistachio Cream Liqueur, (cold) Hot Chocolate, and Tequila Zarpado Blanco. We dressed the rim with melted dark chocolate and crushed pistachios for a perfect finish.

Melted Dark Chocolate, for the rim
Reserved Crushed Pistachios, for the rim

Method for the Rim: Place crushed pistachios on a saucer and set aside. Melt chocolate and pour it into a saucer. Gently twist the rim of (2) rocks glasses in the chocolate, then into the crushed pistachios. Set them aside while you make the cocktail.

Pro-Tip: You can rim the glasses ahead of time, making this cocktail perfect to serve for parties or at a bar as your specialty drink.

Homemade Hot Chocolate Ingredients:

Hershey Special Dark 100% Cocoa
1

Method for the Homemade Hot Chocolate: Mix cocoa and sugar in a small saucepan. Slowly add milk and stir until smooth. Heat milk to boiling point to dissolve the sugar. Remove from heat and let cool.

Method for the Cocktail: Mix cocktail ingredients in a mixing glass, then divide into (2) glass jars. Place jars in the freezer for 2 hours so the mixture is semi-frozen. Spoon into chocolate and nut rimmed rocks glasses.

Note: While we like to serve this cocktail semi-frozen, you can also make the cocktail and serve it over ice or serve hot.

Luxury Experience – That’s Amore

Luxury Experience – That’s Amore is our playful reference to the product name, and that Stanislao Cobianchi created Amaro Montenegro for his love of Elena. We blended Amaro Montenegro, Tequila Zarpado Blanco which complements the herbaceous notes of the liqueur, with orange juice, and added 3 dashes of Fee Brothers West Indian Orange Bitters to create this decadently delicious cocktail. We jazzed up the presentation with an espresso rim and a fanciful orange peel garnish.

Combine cocktail ingredients in a shaker with 4 ice cubes. Shake hard to dissolve ice and thoroughly incorporate the ingredients. Strain into rimmed Martini glass. Garnish with orange peel.

Luxury Experience – Roasted Tomato & Shishito Pepper Soup

Our recipe for Luxury Experience – Roasted Tomato and Shishito Pepper Soup works well as a chilled or hot soup. We dry-roasted tomatoes, onions, and shishito peppers in a sauté pan, then blended this delicious and easy to make soup with chicken bouillon, Tequila Zarpado Blanco, salt and pepper, agave nectar to add a hint of sweetness, and a touch of freshly squeezed lime juice to balance the flavors.

Luxury Experience – Roasted Tomato and Shishito Pepper Soup
4 Servings

Ingredients:

4
Ripe
Tomatoes (1-pound/457 grams)
8
Shishito Peppers, seeds removed
1
Large
Onion (6-ounces/171 grams, cut in half
1
Cup
Chicken Bouillon
3
Ounces
0.8
Teaspoon
Salt, to taste
0.5
Teaspoon
Black Pepper, to taste
2
Tablespoons
Agave Nectar
1
Tablespoon
Fresh Lime Juice
4
Shishito Peppers, for garnish

Method for the Soup: Heat a large, heavy bottom skillet, add whole tomatoes, onion placed cut side down, and shishito peppers to the pan, and dry roast them (do not add oil). Turn the tomatoes, peppers, and onions over while cooking so that the vegetables do not burn. Cover, and sauté until vegetables are tender. Place them in a blender with the rest of the ingredients and puree until smooth. Serve chilled or hot.

For the Garnish: Add a tiny amount of Extra Virgin Olive Oil to a sauté pan, add the shishito peppers and blister them (let them turn slightly brown), remove from heat.

Presentation: For an elegant, chilled presentation, serve the soup in a Martini glass and garnish it with a blistered shishito pepper.

Until next time, cheers, it’s cocktail time!
