Benjamin Steakhouse Westchester

We had dinner at Benjamin Steakhouse Westchester on Friday, August 7, 2026, when the restaurant was bustling with patrons celebrating the beginning of the weekend, as well as birthdays, anniversaries, or date night, despite the torrential rain. Fortunately, the restaurant has valet service, which made it easy for us to transition from the car to inside the attractive restaurant without getting wet.

Once inside, we appreciated the surroundings, dark wood walls, subdued mood lighting, and tables dressed in white linens with sparkling crystal wine glasses and square amber votive candles that bathed patrons in a soft glow. Tucked into the back of the main dining room, a large fireplace provided an interesting focal point that would provide heat and ambience in the colder months. The restaurant has a well-curated wine cellar, private dining rooms, and a spacious bar where patrons can enjoy pre or post meal beverages or sit at one of the high-top tables to enjoy more casual dining.

Benjamin Old Fashion

Cocktail lovers will appreciate the thoughtfully curated cocktail menu consisting of Specialty Cocktails, Classic Cocktails, Champagne Cocktails, and Non-Alcohol Cocktails. We opted to begin our evening with their Benjamin Old Fashioned from their Specialty Cocktails section, which was made with Blanton’s Bourbon, Bitters, Orange Peel, and garnished with three smoked cherries. The cocktail was well-crafted, perfectly balanced and the perfect introduction to the Benjamin Steakhouse style.

Seafood Platter

The menu is divided into Appetizers, Caviar, Soups, Salads, Steaks and Chops, Seafood and Poultry, Potatoes, and Sides, which all looked very tempting. We opted to share the Seafood Platter from the Appetizers section to begin, which consisted of 4 colossal shrimp, 2 East Coast oysters (Blue Point oysters from Long Island), and 2 West Coast oysters (Kumamoto, small, cup-like oysters), an abundance of crab meat served in a radicchio “bowl” and accompanied by a tasty mignonette, cocktail sauce, ketchup, mustard sauce, and lemon wedges. The Blue Point oysters were delicious with their signature brininess, saltiness, and crisp flavor, and the Kumamoto oysters had a delectable sweeter, buttery finish. The crab meat was plentiful and sweet, and the colossal shrimp first enticed the eyes with their sheer size, then delivered on the palate with their freshness.

For our main courses, we parted ways on the menu making a selection from the Steaks and Chops section, and from the Seafood and Poultry section. As Benajmin’s is a steakhouse, there were numerous tantalizing cuts of meat to select from including Porterhouse for Two, Three, or Four, New York Sirloin, Bone-in Ribeye, Tomahawk Steak (double cut, grass fed), Filet Mignon, Rack of Lamb, Petite Filet Mignon, Junior New York Sirloin Steak, and their Benjamin Burger.

Porterhouse Steak

Edward had the Porterhouse steak, which was chef selected dry aged in their own aging box, and as one would hope, cooked to perfection to his requested doneness of medium rare. The steak was mouthwatering delicious, tender, and very flavorful. Paired with Benjamin Home Fries from the Potatoes section of the menu, and Creamless Creamed Spinach from the Sides section of the menu, it was a home run on the flavor scale.

#1 Yellowfin Tuna - photo by Luxury Experience

#1 Yellowfin Tuna

The Seafood and Poultry section of the menu featured Chilean Sea Bass, Grilled Scottish Salmon, #1 Yellowfin Tuna, Whole Maine Lobster 2lb, (broiled or steamed) Stuffed with Crab Meat, Surf and Turf, King Crab Legs, Lobster Tails, Organic Roast Chicken, and Chicken Parmesan. Debra had the #1 Yellowfin Tuna, steamed bok choy, sesame soy sauce, which was slices of perfectly cooked, rare, crusted tuna, layered over the bok choy in a rich pool of sauce.

As the restaurant has an excellent wine cellar as well as a diverse selection of wines by the glass that includes Champagne and Sparkling, White Wine and Rosé, and Red Wine, finding a perfect wine to pair with our main courses was easy. Edward selected a glass of the Chateau Tour de Marbuzet, Saint-Estèphe 2019 from the Bordeaux region of France, which was a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc, and an admirable companion for the steak. For the #1 Yellowfin Tuna, the pairing was a Domaine Guy Baudin, Pouilly Fumé, “Les Chaumes” 2023 from the Loire Valley in France, made with 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes, which was dry, fresh, with a clean acidity that paired well with the tuna.

Key Lime Pie

Of course, we had to indulge in a “little something” from the Dessert menu as it featured Apple Strudel a la Mode, Molten Chocolate Lava Cake, Bourbon Pecan Pie a la mode Kie Lime Pie, New York Cheesecake, Crème Brûlée, Tiramisu, Fresh Strawberries and homemade Schlag, Hot Fudge Sundae, Assorted Ice Cream, and Assorted Sorbet. After much debate, we decided to share the Key Lime Pie, which was light and delicious accompanied by homemade Schlag. We ended a memorable evening of fine dining at Benjamin Steakhouse Westchester with a glass of Taylor Fladgate Tawny Port.

Just before leaving the restaurant, we posed for a photo next to the Benjamin – A Cut Above the Rest – Steakhouse floral background. All in all, it was a perfect night; the food was exceptional, the rain had stopped, and the weekend had just begun.
