| Some restaurants keep getting better with age. Having recently dined at the upscale restaurant, 75 Main owned by Zack Erdem, in the beginning of March 2020, we can confidently state that they are one of them. The Southampton, New York restaurant opened in 2010 and back when most restaurants in the famed Hamptons were only open seasonally, the charismatic and pioneer visionary Zach Erdem kept his restaurant open year-round. An inviting, comfortably chic and contemporary ambience and an excellent and diverse menu created by Chef Mark Militello makes the restaurant a winner.
The upscale restaurant 75 Main features a contemporary and fashionable ambience with attentive professional waitstaff. Plants and large contemporary artwork grace the walls and add visual appeal to the restaurant, and low background music adds to the ambience. Getting a jump start on Spring, we spent a lovely weekend in Southampton and had a perfect Sunday lunch at 75 Main on March 8, 2020.
The diverse Brunch-Lunch menu offered an exciting selection of food that would appeal to guests preferring breakfast items such as Homemade Granola, Omelets, Eggs Benedict, Crab Cake Benedict, Belgium Waffles, Challah French Toast, Smoked Salmon Platter, as well as those preferring heartier, lunch items including their signature 75 Main Prime Burger, Black Bean Corn & Quinoa Burger, Traditional Maine Lobster Roll, sandwiches, salads, pastas, and much more.
Old & Spicy BB cocktails
75 Main has an interesting and creative cocktail menu, and as we were enjoying Sunday Brunch, we decided to forego the usual Brunch cocktails of a Mimosa or a Bloody Mary and try one of their special drinks. We had their Old & Spicy BB cocktail made with Bulleit Bourbon, Canton Ginger Liqueur, Aperol, Lime Juice, and Jalapeno Syrup, which was perfectly balanced with a nice level of spice without being overpowering.
Roast Beef Hash
For one of our entrées, we had the Roast Beef Hash, which was fork tender pieces of beef folded into roasted potatoes, carrots, onions, and peppers, topped with 2 poached eggs and served with a Hollandaise sauce. Appealing to the eye as well as the palate, the Beef Hash was hearty and rich in flavor.
For our other entrée, we had the Traditional Maine Lobster Roll, which was a generous amount of succulently sweet lobster meat tossed with light mayonnaise and celery and nestled in a brioche pull-apart toasted roll. Paired with a side order of truffle parmesan fries, it would be worth another trip to Southampton to have them again.
Over the years we have always enjoyed dining at 75 Main, whether having dinner or lunch at the restaurant, and the food has always been consistently very good. Combined with Zach Erdem graciously greeting his guests, it is easy to see why 75 Main remains a favorite of locals as well as visitors, as evidenced by the steady flow of diners during our dining experience on March 8, 2020.
