The key to successful entertaining begins with the guest list, which you should plan as carefully as the food and cocktail menus. To create a memorable party, create a theme, hand-deliver if possible, or if not, mail invitations to guests with a surprise inside, perhaps a small seashell or a paper cocktail umbrella to build pre-party excitement.
