Planning that unique, exotic and always dreamed about holiday.
For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, summer is fast approaching, and thoughts of exotic travel itineraries dance through our heads as we ponder the many alluring destinations around the world to choose from. With some, there maybe a tendency to let the dreams and planning become our muse to get us through our day-to-day work. With others, they feel that the world is at their feet so to speak, and with the abundance of information via the Internet and the Digital Market, they try to whittle down and hone in on the list of options, though it can be a bit unwieldy. I personally still find the planning and investigative stage very enjoyable, but I do like to daydream about the next trip, which definitely gets me through the day.
Luxury Experience magazine understands that a trip can be exciting yet panic-inducing to some, and as such we keep this in mind as we develop the components of our destinations, which eventually become the content for our Destination articles featured within the ‘pages' of Luxury Experience magazine. We understand that Luxury Experience magazine is part of the ‘abundance of information via the Internet', so we direct our attention to the experience of travel, the people, the faces, and the places, not just the facts. With so many exciting places to visit, there is in most cases precious little time to properly experience all of the elements.
This month we are excited to bring a truly magical travel destination of smiling faces, gracious people, and exciting places to visit in Bodrum, Turkey - the ‘St. Tropez' of Turkey. This is an area that contains one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World - The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, as well as a sea that is so blue you feel it is a reflection of a cloudless sky. Please take some time to read the Destination - Bodrum, Turkey article, so you can meet some of the gracious people of Bodrum that made our stay so special, as well as ‘visit' the many wonders of this slice of paradise; Bodrum is becoming a year-round destination, which is easy to see why. Read about the newest luxury hotel in Bodrum, which offers you a bit of everything from a private beach, a spacious swimming pool, spa, 8 bars, 3 restaurants, a library and more, see the Hotels and Resorts section and the article on the Kempinski Hotel Barbaros Bay.
In addition to the Destination - Bodrum, Turkey, this month we have elements from around the world, such as an amazing restaurant just a short ride outside New York City - Polpo's Restaurant and Saloon, a fine dining Italian cuisine restaurant that has a laid back relaxed ambiance, which is attended to by a staff that has eyes in the back of their heads, as no detail is left unattended.
The country of Spain brings us a fabulous wine that I highly recommend, and which you can read about in our Wine Cellar section, the Vindelapinta Verdejo Rueda 2004; this will make an excellent pairing with fish or as an aperitif, or to have while browsing through your travel plans. For that relaxing time later in the evening as you settle down to discuss the final list of travel selections you need to be sipping Yamazaki Whisky from Japan, with an Aged 12 Years, and an Aged 18 Years single malt whisky to select from, you are sure to find the right ‘year' for the right time; for our review of Yamazaki - Single Malt Whisky please read the Liquor Cabinet section.
Of course, what would an evening of planning be without some music to set the tone, and in this edition of the Music Scene we feature musicians hailing from Brazil, United States, and Italy who play jazz, bossa nova, samba, and hard driving swing.
Whew, I am a bit tired just traveling the world within the articles we have in this edition of Luxury Experience magazine. Let me close with my personal secret to planning a trip, I use the acronym RADSLD - Relax, enjoy a nice Aperitif, Dine out, Sip some whisky, Listen to some music, and Dream. Good luck with your planning and please email me where you have been, or where you are going so I can dream as well.
