Thorbjørn Risager & The Black Tornado - Change My Game was produced by Soren Bojgaard and Thorbjørn Risager & The Black Tornado, with horn arrangements by Kasper Wagner and Peter W. Kehl, and released on the Ruf Records label. Thorbjørn Risager formed the band, Thorbjørn Risager & The Black Tornado, in Denmark in 2003, releasing their first album in 2004. Change My Game, their latest album, released on February 17, 2017 is the band's 10^th album, and their 3^rd album on the Ruf Records label. This highly celebrated Danish band has played throughout the world, was nominated for British Blues Awards in 2014 and 2015, and won 2 consecutive Danish Grammy awards in 2013 and 2014, among its many accomplishments.

Thorbjørn Risager wrote all of the songs on the 11-track release, with two exceptions, Dreamland, which he co-wrote with Peter Skjerning, and Hollar N' Moan penned by Peter Skjerning. The release opens with the slow and sexy lament, I Used To Love You, where Thorbjørn's deep honeyed-whiskey voice and captivating lyrics "...There was a time, we used to laugh, there was a place where out by the water, we used to have every night and dance in the moonshine..." draw you in and set the stage for more good things to come.

The band follows up with the hard-driving Dreamland which opens with a tight drum beat and guitar opening. Next in the line-up is the title track, Change My Game, which kicks up the pace and slides into funky blues, and is one of my favorite tracks on the release, followed by Holler N' Moan.

Hard Time gets the benefit an acoustic guitar and backing vocalists joining Thorbjørn's vocals. The band slows the pace with the oh-so catchy, Long Gone, with its lyrics "...I'll be long gone when the wolf starts howling at the moon..."

Hold My Lover Tight is fast-paced exuberance enhanced with horns interspersed throughout, followed by Maybe It's Alright, that segues into the catchy Train, which captures the feeling and sound of riding the rails. Thorbjørn and the band ease into the lament, Lay My Burden Down, and end with City Of Love, with its well-crafted lyrics, nice harmonies, and strong instrumentals that brings the release to a delectable close.
