The British Travel Awards 2007Drum roll please, as Luxury Experience Magazine proudly announces the winners of The British Travel Awards for 2007. Battersea Evolution in London was the venue for the illustrious travel awards presented on November 15, 2007 to the black tie crowd who walked the red carpet.

British Travel Awards 2007 - Coldstream GuardEdward F. Nesta and I attended the memorable night of The British Travel Awards 2007 founded by Jonathan Hitchens and Lorraine Barnes Burton. The evening began with a champagne reception, followed by an exhilarating musical performance of the Coldstream Guards decked out in full regalia.

Comedian Bob Mills was the presenter and he kept the evening lively with his witty repartee throughout dinner for 1200 guests, who dined under a "starry sky" lit by thousands of fairy lights on a special celebratory menu.

The Menu

Prawn Cocktail (Tiger Prawn, Orange and Avocado Cocktail with char grilled chorizo, crisp romaine lettuce and a tequila and lime Marie rose sauce garnished with whole king prawns and limes)

Melon Boat (Crown of Cantaloupe Melon filled with pineapple, mango, and kiwi dressed with a mint and Malibu syrup)

Steak Dianne (Char grilled Fillet Steak served with rosemary and garlic dauphinoise, glazed baby carrots and leeks, and a rich French mustard, shallot and brandy sauce finished with cream)

Nut Cutlet (Mediterranean Vegetable Nut Cutlet, roasted aubergine, courgette, red pepper, onions and garlic, bound with almonds and walnuts and served with wilted spinach and a rich tomato)
