I love to travel and look well while doing so, yet I like to travel with little luggage. What I especially love about the Sulu Collection is that the fabrics, like me, were born to travel. Owner and designer Sulu Grant founded her company, Sulu Collection in 2006 where the focus is on beautifully handcrafted women’s clothing from India, which is sold at high end boutiques in North America, Phuket, and St. Barth’s and is also available online at www.SuluCollection.

Meeting with Designer Sulu Grant in February 2017, I learned that she is passionate about design and getting the details right. She understands that women of all sizes want to look beautiful, and has created a collection designed to flatter in sizes that include P (0-2), S (4), M (6-8), L (10-12), XL (14-16) and XXL (18-20). The collection consists of tunics, dresses, maxi dresses, blouses, coats, pants, and ponchos, along with pretty accessories. Her designs are handcrafted in India with attention to detail and feature exquisite hand-embroidery, beading, tiny mirrors, and trims on necklines, sleeves, and hems to create stunning flirty, sexy, and feminine clothing.

One of my favorite pieces from the Sulu Collection is the Maya Tunic, designed with a slight flare shape to flatter and has three-quarter sleeves. Made from a lightweight breathable crinkle cotton, it has a bit of stretch to the fabric and is perfect for travel as it stays wrinkle free, and I love how it feels. This stunning tunic features their signature hand-stitched beading along the collar, neckline and sleeves, with small detail work on the back. What I especially love is how well it pairs with leggings, skinny pants, jeans, or a skirt so that you can create many looks from it. The Maya Tunic comes in Black & Celestial Blue (shown), White & Starry Night, and Navy & Silver, and is available in sizes 2 – 20.
