Designers Cheryl Chee, Masato Miyata, Yuya Kubohara, and Cheung Siu Yan proudly presented their Fall Winter 2012 Women's Wear Collections as part of the Vantan Tokyo show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center in New York.
Attending the Vantan Tokyo show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week provided us with the opportunity to experience the creativity and talents of these young Asian designers whose careers are clearly on the rise.
"Vantan Tokyo started as part of Vantan Design Institute's incubation projects in 2009, setting the stage for the market debut of students while still at school as well as creating a platform for them to launch their creative career. Their graduates include active young designers, such as Aguri Sagimori of "AGURI SAGIMORI," and Masahiko Maruyama of "nude: masahiko maruyama. Vantan Design Institute is the first and only design school, among all the educational institutions in Japan, to participate in the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York, known as one of the major fashion events worldwide, produced by IMG Fashion."
"X-SEED" is the first and only advanced design course in Japan that is offered in English and Japanese. In order to educate creators and designers who can work not only in Japan but also in the world, this course will recruit a group of students in the field of design with a high potential from worldwide countries. In the future, when the X-SEED graduates are recognized for their future possibilities in fashion industry, they will become new members of "atelier X-SEED" department, which supports them to prepare for their worldwide fashion debut."
