With upcoming mid-winter vacations and spring soon to arrive on the horizon, our thoughts naturally think of swimwear.  Gottex   designer Molly Grad, designers Max Azria and Lubov Azria for the  Max Azria  line, and designer Vassilios Kostetsos for  Vassilios Kostetsos showed impressive   Spring 2011 Swimwear Collections featuring glamorous and sexy swimsuits and resort-wear that will flatter figures during  Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week  at  Lincoln Center in New York.

Gottex designer Molly Grad's Spring 2011 Swimwear Collection showed one-piece look, daring bikinis, beautiful caftans, dresses, ponchos, skirts, boleros, and cover-ups. The collection is all about sophisticated sexiness and style utilizing rock crystal embroidery and embellishments, sequins, and ruching for her designs. Molly Grad stated, "The Collection celebrates women. It's a fusion of technology and luxury, created to accentuate the female form. Fabrics have been especially developed ranging from ruched Lycra to foiled metal Lycra. Materials used range from Lucite, rock crystals to hammered titanium metals and resin rock-like formations. Colors played a key role in defining the silhouettes." Her color palette for the Spring 2011 Collection includes neutrals of sand, white, and black, enlivened with shades of blues including baby blue, cobalt, midnight blue, and royal blue, mixed in with sunset, green, malachite, silver, and bronze.

A few of the bikini highlights included a Soft Foam, Criss Cross Bikini with Fine Piping and Explorer Crepe Caftan; Ruched "Froisee" Lycra Bikini; and a Malachite Laminated Lycra High-Waisted Bikini and Cover-up. Swimsuits highlights included a White with Black Edging Bustier Swimsuit with Belt; Fluro-Degrade Tulle Asymmetric Swimsuit with Belt; White Ribbed Bandeau Swimsuit with Rock Ribbed Belt; "Wet" Look Embellished Swimsuit; and a Black One-Piece with Royal Blue Encrusted Collar and Belt.

Cover-up looks included Explorer Baby Blue Silk Caftan with Lucite Embroidery; Sand Print Chiffon Kimono worn with a Lurex Woven Swimsuit; Malachite Print Mini-Embroidered Caftan; and a Metallic Crochet Poncho worn with a Bronze Foil Swimsuit. Resort-wear highlights included a Sunset Resort Cocktail Dress Embellished with Matching Printed Sequins; Black Double Sided Sequin Dress with Encrusted Bust and Shoulder; Silver Metalized Encrusted Elastic Swimsuit with Metalized Crochet Dress. Other highlights included an Encrusted Tulle Skirt worn with Bronze Tulle Sheared One-Piece with Encrusted Metallic Tulle; Royal Blue Encrusted Bandeau with Double Sided Metallic Skirt; and a Sequin High Neck with Laminated Zippers and Matching Explorer Skirt.

Designers Max Azria and Lubov Azria for the  Max Azria  line stated that their vision "For Spring 2011, pure lines convey a vision of simplicity. Unstructured silhouettes are given new life to layers of gauze, silk georgette, and double-faced crepe. Architectural details enhance the look with geometric cutouts and linear strap placement. A fluid palette of warm beiges and creams blends into sorbet shades of peach and mint, as linen and white dissolves into classic colors of pale grey and black."

Greek designer Vassilios Kostetsos launched his Vassilios Kostetsos label in Athens, Greece in 1990, and showed six women's swimwear looks for his combined Women and Men's Spring Summer 2011 Collection: "Alella" called "Vazes & Amazones" (Greek Ceramic Vases - The Amazons were a nation of women dwelling neat the river  Thermodon.)

Swimwear highlights included a String Bikini with Fabric Fringe in Cream and the same look shown in black. He also showed four one-piece designs including a One-Shoulder Swimsuit in White with Gold Amazon Graphic; a Black Tank with Gold Amazon Graphic; a White Swimsuit with Fabric Fringe Details on the Bodice and Legs; and a Blush Nude Swimsuit with Black Fabric Fringe Details on the Bodice with Gold Empire Waist Belt.
