The Barbara Gerwit® resort wear collection is perfect for travel with its gorgeous line of hand-blocked, hand-beaded embroidered dresses, knits, bottoms, tunics, and tops. The fashionably stylish and stunning line is easy to pack, travels well, is easy to care for, and is guaranteed to turn heads and generate compliments.
Packing for me, as I travel extensively, has become an art form; with that said, I never like to compromise when it comes to fashion, meaning that while I want clothes that can travel as easily as I do, I also want attractive, high-quality elegant and chic clothing that can be worn for a variety of occasions. I look for clothes that can go from casual wear to more dressy fare simply by changing my accessories to go with them.

When I “discovered” the resort wear designer Barbara Gerwit collection, I was thrilled, as Barbara is no stranger to the world of fashion. At the tender age of 12 she received a sewing machine from her mother as a birthday gift, decided to pursue fashion as a career, and in 1976, Barbara and her husband Ken Gerwit became clothing manufacturers. Today she is a well-respected designer and the Barbara Gerwit brand is a top brand in resort wear where the focus is on high end quality resort collections at affordable prices.

The latest collection is stunning and consists of hand blocked printed cotton tunics, high quality linen and crinkle cotton tunics, silky cotton, and hand engineered printed cotton knit dresses, pants, and tops. The collection also includes fashionable sandals to complete your resort wear look whether your destination is Miami or the Hamptons, the Caribbean, traveling the world, or simply enjoying time at home. The collection not only looks and feels great, it packs well, is easy to care for and has excellent washability, definitely important factors to consider when purchasing travel clothing.

All of the pieces in the collection are wonderful, however I especially love the attractive engineered printed cotton knit dresses that flatter all body types. The styles are chic and the prints and colors are vibrant, and I love the many compliments that I always receive when I wear one of the dresses, with people inquiring who the designer is and where they can purchase the line of clothing.

Edward and I spent a weekend in fashionable Cape Cod, Massachusetts in late August 2014 with my sister Joanne and her husband Peter. Both she and I wore dresses from the collection to the beaches, while browsing in the boutiques, and to dine at restaurants. Everywhere we went people commented on how pretty the dresses were, and if we would divulge the name of the designer, and of course we did, we were more than happy to share the name of Barbara Gerwit.
Joanne also wore a Barbara Gerwit dress to a casual cocktail party, added some impressive jewelry, and once again, the dress was a success and generated lots of positive comments. I also wore one of the dresses to the Greenwich WINE + FOOD Festival in fashionably chic Greenwich, Connecticut, and the results were the same; lots of compliments. Easy to pack, easy to wear, lots of possibilities while looking attractive and chic, what more could you possibly ask for?
