It was a very memorable night in New York as the legendary Peacock Alley at The Waldorf=Astoria, 301 Park Avenue, received the coveted Star Diamond Award from The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences on November 29, 2005.

Mr. Joseph D. Cinque, President of The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences presented the prestigious Star Diamond Award to Mr. Jean-Pierre Duteron, General Manager of Peacock Alley, at a celebrity studded cocktail reception at the grand unveiling of Peacock Alley.
Peacock Alley features an elegant Art Deco décor in its restaurant, marble bar and two private dining rooms, and looked absolutely sensational at its unveiling after its $5.5 million renovation. Peacock Alley is located off the lobby of the historic landmark The Waldorf=Astoria.
There was a magnificent ice sculpture of The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences Star Diamond Award prominently displayed to commemorate the occasion. The champagne flowed, the bartenders poured perfectly chilled and shaken XO Vodka martinis, tantalizing canapés were passed by tuxedoed waiters, and the guests mingled while being entertained by the musical talents of the Chris Gillespie Trio, with Chris Gillespie on piano, Max Schweiger on Saxophone and Doug Largent on Bass.
There was a veritable who’s who of New Yorkers in attendance, including Donald J. Trump, his son, Donald Trump Jr. and his beautiful new bride, Vanessa, the actor Tony Lo Bianco, Louis J. Freeh, former Director of the FBI, as well as many of the top professionals in the hospitality industry, who were among the many invited guests, who came to extend their congratulations to Mr. Duteron on Peacock Alley receiving this esteemed award from The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences.
After the awards ceremony, Chef de Cuisine Cedric Tovar together with Peacock Alley Pastry Chef Nancy Olson provided guests with the opportunity to sample some of the Peacock Alley cuisine including tender pork tenderloin, and a delectable risotto with freshly shaved white truffles that had guests returning for more, before they indulged in decadent chocolate dessert creations.
Congratulations to Mr. Jean-Pierre Duteron and Peacock Alley on receiving the Star Diamond Award from The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences!
