Chef Jean Joho of Everest wins an award from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences.
Luxury Experience magazine is always pleased when we can be the front-runners of being in the know, and predicting winners for our readers. As evidenced in our Music Scene Brazil article in Luxury Experience when Edward F. Nesta wrote that “Maria Rita is a young and rising star on the Brazilian music scene…” and then on August 31, 2004, she won 2 awards at the Premios Grammy Latin – Latin Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best Brazilian Pop Album.
Luxury Experience had the opportunity to dine at Everest, 440 South La Salle Street, 40th Floor, Chicago, Illinois in June 2004, and I wrote about Chef Jean Joho and his restaurant, “Everest, a stylish restaurant on the 40th floor of the Chicago Stock Exchange Building, provided a magical setting with dramatic skyline and spectacular sunset views…” in the July/August 2004 edition in the article “An Intimate Evening with Burgundy at Everest”, an incredible wine pairing dinner featuring Chef Jean Joho’s culinary masterpieces with wines from the Burgundy region of France. We are now proud to announce that we have once again picked another winner!
The esteemed American Academy of Hospitality Sciences (AAHS), just awarded Everest a recipient of their Star Diamond Award on September 21, 2004. Alsatian Chef Jean Joho truly deserves this outstanding recognition from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences for his dedication to “accomplishing the highest standard of commitment to outstanding gastronomy, ambiance, attitude, cleanliness, and above all, service.” Well done, Chef Jean Joho!
Luxury Experience looks forward to revisiting Everest, a member of the prestigious Les Grandes Tables du Monde, as well as Relais & Chateaux and Traditions & Qualité, on our next visit to Chicago.
