The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences Star Diamond Award Winners for 2004.
Each year The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences awards top industry professionals with their Star Diamond Awards. This year, the Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin, Unter den Linden 77/Am Pariser Platz, 10117 Berlin, Germany hosted the awards on March 13, 2004. Consider this the Academy Awards for the hospitality industry if you will! It was a night to remember whether you were one of the winners, or attending as a guest – the champagne flowed, the canapés were plentiful, Miss Universe, Miss USA, and Miss Teen posed with guests for pictures, and the Bond Girls were there – (no, not from the James Bond movies, the Bond Girls of the classical music group), and that was just the cocktail reception! An awards dinner followed the reception.
In the chef category, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, (Jean Georges, New York), was “Selected as the Finest Chef in the World”, Ferran Adrià (El Bulli, Spain), was “Selected as the Most Creative Chef in the World”, Marc Haeberlin (Auberge de L’ll, Illhäusern) was “Selected as one of the Finest Chefs in the World”, Annie Feoldé (Enoteca Pinchiorri, Firenze), was “Selected as one of the Finest Chefs in the World”, Jean-Claude Borgueil (Im Schiffchen, Düsseldorf), was “Selected as one of the Finest Chefs in the World”, Rainer Sigg (Hotel Adlon Kempinski, Berlin) was “Selected as one of the Finest Chefs in the World”, and in the coffee category, Lavazza was “Selected as the Finest Coffee in the World.”
